North American travellers have increased length of stay and spending on summer trips according to Virtuoso data. Bookings rose 9pc from January to April with room nights up 15pc. Sales increased 24pc compared to the previous year.
The trend took place amid resilient demand. Travel to the United States shows softening bookings offset by higher rates with average daily rate at US$671 for January to April. Summer bookings from June to August rise 26pc with sales 45pc ahead.
Top destinations include the United States, Italy, France, Canada and the United Kingdom. Longer trips and premium experiences drive growth.
