The development of a marina project at The Quay area of Westport has been raised as an election issue in Mayo as a means of enhancing tourism potential and generating employment opportunities.
The project has been in progress for several years and is expected to bolster Mayo’s tourism offerings by providing a new harbour facility.
Mayo Senator Lisa Chambers has met with the Westport Marina Group and Minister for Finance Jack Chambers to discuss funding support for the marina project.
Senator Chambers emphasized the importance of establishing dedicated funding sources for marine infrastructure projects to address current gaps in funding availability and support the successful delivery of such initiatives.
