Aer Lingus 49th & Ryanair 63rd in 2024 Skytrax awards as Qatar beats Singapore to first place

Aer Lingus were named in 49th place and Ryanair 63rd in the annual listing of the world’s top hundred airlines by Skytrax.

Qatar Airways was named the world’s best airline for the eighth time in 25-year history at an awards ceremony in a manor house near London’s Heathrow Airport.

London based Skytrax conducted surveys of 21m customers from 100 countries about 350 airlines for awards

Last year’s overall winner Singapore Airlines won World’s Best Cabin Staff, Best First Class service, and Best Airline in Asia.

Turkish Airlines won best airline in Europe for the ninth time and Sunexpress were named ‘best leisure airline in Europe’ at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2024, following their win in 2023 and receiving the “world’s best leisure airline” award in 2022.

ANA won world’s best airport services and best airline staff service in Asia. AirAsia named world’s best low-cost airline, while Scoot was named world’s best long haul-low cost airline.

Bangkok Airways picked up the world’s best regional airline prize for the eighth consecutive year.

Other winners included Vistara, Fiji Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and Cathay Pacific as the World’s Cleanest Airline

Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted said “this is a remarkable achievement for Qatar Airways to win this World’s Best Airline title for 2024, the eighth time they have triumphed.
