Air India confirmed an incremental order for thirty Boeing 737 MAX aircraft comprising twenty 737-8s and ten 737-10s converting options from its 2023 Boeing deal. The commitment was confirmed during the Wings India event in Hyderabad bringing total orders to 220 aircraft. Delivery dates remain undisclosed with operation possible by mainline or Air India Express.
Air India operates fifty-one 737-8s through Air India Express and holds further orders for eighty-nine 737-8s and fifty 737-10s. The airline also converted fifteen A321neo orders to the long-range A321XLR variant for delivery in 2029 and 2030 becoming the second Indian operator after IndiGo.
