IATA and Amadeus have announced the integration of flight-specific emissions data from IATA CO2 Connect into the Amadeus Travel Platform, allowing enhanced transparency for travellers.

IATA CO2 Connect utilises operational data from over 70 airlines, employing a globally standardised methodology to calculate aircraft type-specific fuel consumption.

A survey conducted by IATA indicated that nearly 90% of passengers expect carbon emission data, yet 79pc reported inconsistencies in provided information.

ISO 14083 assurance aligns IATA CO2 Connect with a common methodology for greenhouse gas data reporting, influencing future EU emissions calculations for transportation.

Recent participants in the IATA CO2 Connect programme include Air India, Thai Airways, Atlas Air, and others, with ambitions to recruit 100 airlines by the end of 2025.
