Castle Durrow features on Channel 4 auction programme

Castle Durrow and County Laois featured in the new More4 TV series ‘Country House Auction’ on Wednesday night, August 13, reaching a wide audience across England.

Supported by Tourism Ireland and Northern Ireland Screen, the four-part series showcases the auction of fine antiques at the 18th-century Castle Durrow, curated by Sheppard’s Irish Auction House.

Viewers will witness the preparation and hosting of the auction at Castle Durrow by owners Tessa and Robin Leidig, attracting buyers, sellers, and auction enthusiasts to witness unique antiques go under the hammer.

Other locations featured in the series include Swifte’s Heath and Burnchurch House in County Kilkenny, Limerick Museum, and Gloster House in County Offaly, with Tourism Ireland aiming to promote Ireland’s heritage and history to English and Scottish viewers through such broadcasts.
