Cleaver East will close on Sunday August 3 after over a decade in operation due to the renovation of U2’s former hotel, The Clarence. Owned by Michelin chef Oliver Dunne, the restaurant was known for its innovative small plate concept and popular bottomless brunch menu.

The Clarence Hotel is set to undergo major renovations, aiming to nearly triple its bedroom capacity after being sold to the Dean Hotel Group in October 2023.

All Cleaver East staff have been relocated within Oliver Dunne’s existing restaurant group, ensuring no job losses from the closure.

Dunne invited customers to celebrate the restaurant’s last weeks while looking forward to continuing popular offerings at their sister venue, Beef and Lobster.
