Craggaunowen Castle in County Clare will host a series of concerts featuring medieval and traditional Irish music, with the first concert taking place during National Heritage Week.
The event will showcase demonstrations of old crafts and traditions such as spinning, blacksmithing, bread making, and bagpipe playing, alongside the musical performances.
Resident musician Arno Kilhoffer and singer Annika Hammar will kick off the evening with medieval era music, while Jennifer Lenihan, Mark Donnellan, and Michael Landers from the Tulla Céilí Band will present traditional Irish music in the second half.
The concert promises a diverse musical experience, ranging from haunting medieval melodies to timeless 16th-century songs and lively traditional Irish tunes, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of County Clare.
Pauline Lenihan, Manager of Craggaunowen said, “The concert series is a new departure for us, but it is very much in keeping with the attraction’s role of celebrating Ireland’s ancient history, of which our musical heritage is an integral part of. This Friday and over the coming weeks, we are very much looking forward to welcoming talented singers and musicians from across County Clare and further afield to fill Craggaunowen Castle with soulful songs, beautiful melodies and vibrant music.”
