Ukiyo, a popular Dublin dining spot and karaoke bar, has announced its immediate closure due to financial difficulties, warning that without government assistance, more closures may follow in the hospitality sector.
The closure of Ukiyo, which opened in 2004 and was known for its karaoke and late-night bar, adds to the challenges faced by Dublin’s hospitality industry, with other establishments also shutting down recently.
The owners expressed sadness over the closure, thanking staff, DJs, suppliers, tradespeople, and customers for their contributions and loyalty over the past two decades.
They highlighted financial struggles, including narrow profit margins, as the main reason for closing, urging the government to provide support to prevent further closures and job losses in the hospitality sector.
