Edelweiss has confirmed enhancements to its long-haul inflight experience with a new business class cabin upgraded Business Suite product and addition of premium economy on its Airbus A350 fleet.
The airline retrofitted its four A350s and added two more aircraft which replaced the inherited aged A340 fleet from SWISS. Standard business class adopted a 1-2-1 layout that guaranteed direct aisle access for every passenger. Business Suite positioned in the front row featured a 1.2-metre-high privacy door memory foam pillow and mattress topper with open footwell. Premium economy offered 28 seats in a 2-3-2 layout across four rows with welcome drink chinaware tablecloth alcoholic beverages and noise-cancelling headphones.
The upgrades included approximately three centimetres extra legroom in standard economy across the fleet. All cabins received 4K television screens Bluetooth audio USB-A and USB-C charging plus free high-speed Starlink inflight internet. Edelweiss focused on leisure travellers but introduced features that appealed to serious long-haul passengers. The refit moved away from retaining previous operators’ seats to establish Edelweiss’ own standards. The changes applied to A350 operations with power and connectivity throughout.
Edelweiss may call itself a leisure airline but new A350 cabins—with direct aisle access suites premium economy and Starlink—signal it’s quietly courting serious long-haul travelers.
