Entries are now open for the 2026 Pooleys International Dawn to Dusk Competition, inviting pilots to showcase creative flying, airmanship, and heritage aviation projects. Established in 1964, this free, global competition requires a minimum of four hours of flying in one day between sunrise and sunset. Submissions close in September 2026, with a £1,000 prize and the Duke of Edinburgh Trophy for the winner.

The objective is to complete an original, planned aviation project with a theme (e.g., historical, geographical) in a single day to be recorded in a written, detailed log of preparations and the flight, supported by photos or video. Entries are open to any pilot flying any type of manned aircraft.

Judges will focus on originality, safety, an dairmanship rather than speed or aircraft performance.

Deadline is end of September 2026. Entries can be made via the official Pooleys website
