Eurocamp has confirmed that 64 of its holiday parks across Europe now hold leading environmental certifications, doubling the total from a year earlier. Of these, 59 parks earned Green Key certification, backed by the World Tourism Organisation, including five-star sites such as La Croix du Vieux Pont near Paris and La Chapelle in Roussillon. Four parks secured Travelife certification, and one received EU Ecolabel status.
The rise stems from owner ECG’s focus on sustainability standards since 2023, with investments in better-insulated holiday homes, water recycling, wildlife protection through partnerships like the League for the Protection of Birds, and the appointment of environmental officers at each site. ECG tracks impact in water and energy use per person, waste production, recycling rates, and biodiversity efforts, with annual assessments planned.
Philippe de Trémiolles shared “We offer holidays that bring people closer to nature. It is our duty to protect this heritage so that families can enjoy it for years to come.”
