Fincantieri delivered the new Mein Schiff Relax to TUI Cruises on Friday in Monfalcone, marking the launch of the first of two InTUltion class cruise ships.
These dual fuel powered ships, designed for energy efficiency, will use Liquid Natural Gas and Marine Gas Oil, with the second ship expected to set sail in mid-2026.
The ceremony featured Italian Minister Luca Ciriani and executives from both Fincantieri and TUI Cruises, including CEO Wybcke Meier and chairman Pierroberto Folgiero.
The Mein Schiff Relax includes advanced environmental technologies such as catalytic converters, a waste treatment system, and an electrical shore-power connection to minimize emissions, especially during port operations.
