The Galmont Hotel in Galway has submitted plans for expansion to Galway City Council.
The proposal includes the demolition of two bedrooms and the addition of 14 new rooms between the hotel’s east and north wings. A decision from the council regarding the Galmont Hotel’s plans is expected by October 16.
Earlier this month, the G Hotel received approval for its own expansion, adding ten more rooms. The expansion at the G Hotel involves converting a retail unit into hotel space and alterations to existing hotel floors.
The project includes the ‘change of use of existing retail unit to facilitate extension of G Hotel into retail space at first floor to accommodate ten additional bedroom and ancillary areas.’”
