Galway, Kerry, and Donegal have been identified as the top staycation destinations in Ireland in a survey by Betfair, with Galway favoured by over a third of survey respondents.
Other popular locations include Dublin, Cork, Killarney, and Wexford, with Shannon not making a significant impression.
The biggest travel annoyances for survey respondents are long queues (61pc), bad hygiene of seatmates on planes (34pc), and lack of enough legroom (34pc).
The rise of staycations has led many Irish holidaymakers to explore local beauty spots, such as the landscapes of Donegal and the vibrant city life in Dublin.
