Holyhead completes first day of sailings after six week closure

Holyhead Port services from Dublin have completed their first day of operations after a six week closure. Stena Estrid, Stena Adveturer and Irish Ferries James Joyce resumed sailings today. 

Closure was caused by damage from Storm Darragh on December 7. The 0730 departure was delayed to 0930 doe to operational reasons

Stena Line and Irish Ferries will share Terminal 5. Both companies will operate a full schedule for both ferry operators, while updates on the reropening of Terminal 3. The Irish Ferries berth, are pending.

A taskforce involving Irish, Welsh, and Westminster governments will be established to work towards ensuring the long-term resilience of Holyhead Port.

Minister of State at the Department of Transport James Lawless shared “haulage and associated sectors for the unbelievable effort they put in over the holiday period, going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure Christmas was saved for so many families and businesses”.

The Ulysses is currently in Odense in Denmark.
