Italian travel TV show Kilimangiaro films in Offaly and Westmeath

Italian travel TV show Kilimangiaro, with 1.2m viewers has been filming in Ireland for an episode airing on Rai 3.

Filming locations included Athlone Castle, Clonmacnoise, Lough Boora Discovery Park, and several other attractions.

A cruise on the River Shannon with Viking Tours Ireland was also featured, along with a traditional Irish music session in Sean’s Bar.

Marcella Ercolini, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Italy, shared: “We were delighted to invite the crew from ‘Kilimangiaro’ to come and film in Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands and Ireland’s Ancient East.”
