Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has refused planning permission for Manna Drones aerial delivery hub in Dundrum.

The council rejected the proposal for a drone hub on lands to the rear of Holy Cross Church on 16 June 2026. Noise impact concerns formed the primary reason for refusal as the submitted assessment did not sufficiently demonstrate no adverse effects on residential amenity. Biodiversity concerns also contributed to the decision.

Monsignor Paul Callan of Holy Cross Church lodged an objection that highlighted potential disruption during mass and other activities. Local residents submitted 216 third party observations with the majority focused on noise, privacy and safety. The council determined that the applicant failed to address these impacts adequately.

Manna Drones confirmed it will study the outcome while continuing expansion plans in Ireland and the United States. Accounts for 2024 showed pre-tax losses of €16.9 .

Planning consultant Ann Mulcrone shared “there is a fundamental land use conflict between the proposed use and the impacts on the Church.”
