Parknasilla retains profitability as revenues decline as costs increase

Revenues at Parknasilla resort in Co Kerry increased to €12m in 2024 and management have projected revenues of €12.5m for 2025.

Operating profits rose by 11pc to €2.4m in 2023 despite a slight decline in overall revenues. Irish customers make up 80pc of the client base. 

Managing director Tony Daly confirmed ongoing investment in guest facilities and sustainable equipment to enhance the overall resort experience. He said earnings at the firm will be down slightly in 2024. The company secured a new €20m loan facility to refinance existing debt.

Parknasilla comprises an 86-bedroom luxury hotel and spa along with 38 villas and 24 lodges and a nine-hole golf course. It employs 121 people.

Parknasilla Resort & Spa is co-owned by Jacqui Safra, a Swiss-Lebanese billionaire. He also owns Rossdohan Island.

Formerly Great Southern Parknasilla, the Great Southern Hotel Group was once owned by CIE and was later taken over by Aer Rianta.
