Revenues at Galway’s Skeffington Arms hotel increased by 27pc to €8.25m, but pre-tax profits more than halved to €406,641 due to a decrease in government grants.

The company saw strong performance across all departments, matching or exceeding pre-pandemic levels, with a high demand for services from domestic and overseas markets, particularly North America.

Despite facing challenges such as increased energy, labor, and food costs, the business employs 113 staff with staff costs rising to €3.11m.

Shareholder funds for the company totalled €4m, with cash funds more than halving from €2.48m to €1.06m. Directors’ overall remuneration almost halved to €283,216, primarily due to a decrease in pension contributions.
