A new AI-powered itinerary planner launched by Sligo County Council aims to transform destination marketing in the northwest.
The ‘Ideas Engine’ generates personalised travel itineraries based on user input regarding needs and dates.
Developed in collaboration with the Department of Marketing, Tourism and Sport at ATU Sligo, the platform incorporates local data and events.
Aidan McCormack tourism officer of Sligo County Council remarked on the contribution of ATU students to marketing efforts and the support from staff, particularly Mary McGuckin.
Aidan McCormack shared: the ATU students contributed significantly to the platform’s marketing. The new platform has been embraced by hotels, attractions and experiences. It is as valuable for local people as it is for visitors.
