
Waterford council has approved the construction of eco pods at Mount Congreve Gardens in Waterford to provide on-site tourist accommodation, with a total of 22 beds available.
The works were proposed during a Comeragh Special meeting on June 5 to enhance the visitor experience at the gardens, which are considered one of the greatest in the world.
The proposed works include the installation of five eco pods and the refurbishment of existing gate lodges, along with necessary infrastructure and landscaping.
Local councillors have expressed support for the project, highlighting the potential for increased tourism and visitor numbers to the area, and lauding the beauty and significance of the Mount Congreve Gardens.
