WestJet has revealed four new flights and strengthened east-west connectivity across Canada for the summer 2026 season.
The enhancements include additional frequencies and new routes to improve accessibility between major cities and regional centres.
- Calgary – Sault Ste. Daily service starting 15 May using De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft.
- Calgary – North Bay, Twice-weekly service starting 12 June using Boeing 737 aircraft.
- Calgary – Campbell River, Twice-weekly service starting 19 June using Boeing 737 aircraft.
- Edmonton – Terrace, Twice-weekly service starting 19 May using De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft.
Beyond these new routes, WestJet is significantly increasing capacity on existing domestic corridors to improve coast-to-coast access:
Domestic capacity at Halifax Stanfield (YHZ) will increase by almost 50%. This includes higher frequencies to Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Calgary, Toronto, Regina, and Saskatoon.
Capacity between Calgary and Deer Lake, Newfoundland and Labrador, will double for the summer season.
The domestic expansion coincides with a reduction in transborder (Canada–U.S.) service. Due to a decline in cross-border demand throughout 2025, WestJet is suspending 16 U.S. routes for Summer 2026, including several departures from Vancouver and Edmonton, to refocus capacity on domestic and sun destinations.
