Offering five distances suitable for various skill levels (ranging from 10k to 80k), EcoTrail Wicklow takes participants through iconic Wicklow locations, starting at Bray Seafront and covering areas like Bray Head, Killruddery, Powerscourt Waterfall, Djouce, Lough Tay, and Roundwood Reservoir.
Fred Verdier, the tourism officer of Wicklow County Council, highlighted the growing popularity of trail running worldwide and emphasized Wicklow’s appeal as an ideal trail running destination due to its mild climate and stunning landscape, with EcoTrail Wicklow promoting the area as a fantastic destination for runners.
EcoTrail Wicklow is a part of the international EcoTrail racing circuit focused on organizing eco-responsible trail running events to raise awareness about environmental protection, joining locations like Paris, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and Portugal.
