British Open in county Antrim generated €50m in economic benefit for Causeway Coast

The 153rd British Open at Portrush generated €318.3m in economic benefit for county Antrim and its environs, up 180pc from 2019. Direct economic impact totalled €99.7m with €49.6m in Causeway Coast and Glens.

Global exposure produced €217.1m in destination marketing compared to €42.4m euro in 2019. Daily spending by spectators increased 134pc nationally and 100pc regionally with 59.5pc attendees from outside the county.

Attendance reached 278,000 spectators the highest for a non-St Andrews Open surpassing 237,750 in 2019.
