Charge for Ryanair bookings on Amadeus will reduce on August 1, in the latest development in Ryanair’s fraught relationship with global distribution systems.

Ryanair issued new Offline Subscriber Booking Terms for Travel Management Companies (TMCs) booking through global distribution systems. Sabre and Travelport users faced a 31 March cutoff, while Amadeus GDS users were given a final deadline in May 2026 to accept the terms or risk losing access to Ryanair content completely. Ryanair returned to the Amadeus GDS platform on 18 May 2023, following an initial announcement of their renewed partnership in late 2022.

The timeline of the Ryanair-Amadeus relationship shows a history of fluctuating cooperation. Ryanair first partnered with Amadeus in September 2014 to capture the corporate travel market, but the partnership ended in December 2017 after the two companies failed to reach a commercial agreement. A new agreement was announced in November 2022, officially going live in May 2023, making thousands of daily flights bookable through the platform.

When booking Ryanair through Amadeus, travel agents receive fare parity matching live pricing on the official Ryanair website, no surcharges bypassing direct-booking penalties, and ancillary access to bundle checked bags, seat assignments, and Business Plus fares within the GDS workspace. The May 2026 deadline required Amadeus travel agencies to sign Ryanair’s updated content distribution terms.
