The Roscommon Drama Festival runs from 6 to 14 March at Roscommon Arts Centre. The annual event features a confirmed line-up of performances, attracting drama enthusiasts and supporting local cultural heritage in the midlands region.
The 2026 Roscommon Drama Festival has been officially launched, scheduled to run from Friday, 6th March to Saturday, 14th March at the Roscommon Arts Centre. This annual event, held under the auspices of the Amateur Drama Council of Ireland (ADCI), serves as a qualifying round for the All-Ireland Drama Festival. Performances begin nightly at 8:00 pm, with the final night starting earlier at 7:30 pm.
- Friday, 6th March: Ballyturk by Enda Walsh: Performed by Kilmeen Drama Group (Open).
- Saturday, 7th March: Wit by Margaret Edson: Performed by Corofin Dramatic Society (Open).
- Sunday, 8th March: The Salvage Shop by Jim Nolan: Performed by The Nenagh Players (Open).
- Monday, 9th March: I Had to Go to Counselling: A one-man show by Gerry Farrell. Note: This performance is not in competition and replaced the originally scheduled show by Dunmore Amateur Dramatic Society.
- Tuesday, 10th March: The Year of the Hiker by John B. Keane: Performed by Upstage Players (Confined).
- Wednesday, 11th March: No Performance.
- Thursday, 12th March: Chapatti by Christian O’Reilly: Performed by Glenamaddy Players (Confined).
- Friday, 13th March: The Communication Cord by Brian Friel: Performed by Kilmuckridge Drama Group (Confined).
- Saturday, 14th March: Sive by John B. Keane: Performed by Dalkey Players (Open), followed by the Presentation of Awards.
Adjudicator is Paula Dempsey, a member of the Association of Drama Adjudicators (ADA).
Tickets: Nightly tickets are priced at €20. A five-night ticket is available for €90, and a full season ticket for the nine nights is €135.

Children’s Competition: The festival launch also included the announcement of winners for the children’s short story writing competition, featuring students from local primary schools.
