Adare Manor, a luxury resort in Limerick owned by billionaire JP McManus, has been awarded the title of the best resort in Europe by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler, highlighting its popularity and guest satisfaction.
The award was determined by over 575,000 votes from readers of Condé Nast Traveler, reflecting widespread appreciation for the resort’s offerings.
The resort is preparing to host the Ryder Cup in 2027 and has high seasonal B&B rates starting from €675 in November and December.
The magazine listed the 25 best resorts in Europe, eight of them from Ireland, six from Turkiye, three from Scotland, two each from Cyprus and Portugal and one each from France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.:
Ashford Castle, Trump Doonbeg and Sheen Falls were in fourth, fifth and sixth position, Dromoland and the Europe in 11th and 12th, and Dunloe and Powerxcourt in 18th and 19th.
The Readers’ Choice Awards 2024 marks the 27th edition of the annual event, which has altered its format to focus solely on votes from England after five years of co-curation with its US counterpart.
Japan has been voted the favourite country among respondents, alongside popular long-haul destinations like New Zealand, Australia, and Thailand.
The awards celebrate the desire to explore and relax, featuring a curated list of hotels, spas, resorts, countries, cities, islands, and travel operators that are integral to travellers’ dreams and experiences.
