
In the second quarter, Royal Caribbean delivered 2.3m cruises, with approximately 60pc of guests being new-to-cruise or new-to-brand.
Onboard revenue reached $1.339bn, representing a 9.5pc increase from $1.223 billion the previous year. The number of passengers carried increased by 10pc to 2,254,057 compared to 2,040,242 guests last year. Half of the onboard spend was booked prior to sailing, with three out of four guests making pre-cruise purchases for experiences.
Jason Liberty noted that guests who book experiences beforehand spend two-and-a-half times more than those who do not.
