
TripAdvisor says it blocked 2.7m fraudulent reports in 2024 and a further 380,000 were not up to its publication standard across nits platform.
The group reported that 87.8pc of reviews met publication standards, whit it cites as validation of its ability to tackle fraudulent activity effectively.
The website’s annual Transparency Report revealed a 9pc increase in user contributions for 2024, resulting in 31.1m reviews and 38.1m multimedia submissions.
The platform faced a notable rise in experiences and activities reviews, with a 45pc increase, reflecting changing traveller interests.
In 2024, the Trust and Safety team moderated 4.2m reviews, with 2.7m fraudulent reports successfully eliminated from the site.
TripAdvisor emphasized collaboration with key industry players through the Coalition for Trusted Reviews to maintain content integrity and uphold consumer trust.
