The White Hag Irish Brewing Co. began in 2013 in Ballymote. This independent brewery produces a range of beers inspired by ancient mythological styles and classic traditions combined with modern innovation, including IPAs such as Little Fawn and Scraggy Bay alongside barrel-aged stouts and Atlantean, with emphasis on bold flavours, award-winning stout output, and experimental approaches that reflect Ireland’s heritage. Lough Gill Brewery operates as a family-run independent facility in Sligo town. It crafts fresh beers influenced by the area’s brewing legacy and the Wild Atlantic Way setting, with a focus on quality craft ales available through direct sales and delivery.
On the distillery side, Hawk’s Rock Distillery produces premium Irish single malt whiskey in County Sligo. The operation centres on single malt whiskey creation in a location tied to the west of Ireland’s landscape. Lough Gill Distillery functions in Hazelwood Demesne on the banks of Lough Gill near Sligo.
Situated in a 300-year-old estate surrounded by folklore, it releases whiskeys such as Athru Annacoona, a limited 14-year-old expression with bold and rich character, through small-batch processes informed by the mythological surroundings. These facilities maintain Sligo’s involvement in craft drinks through their use of local inspiration and production methods.
