  • Rock of Cashel, Kings of Munster such as Cormac Mac Cuilennáin d. 908, the Rock of Cashel was the traditional seat and burial place of Munster kings before the Norman period; the graveyard includes ancient high crosses and slabs with royal associations.
  • Faugheen Cemetery, Faugheen. Paddy Clancy 1922–1998, musician that popularised Irish traditional songs in America during the folk revival.
  • Athassel Priory, Golden, Richard Og de Burgh, Anglo-Norman noble who played key roles in Irish medieval politics and wars, including conflicts with native Irish kings; buried in the ruins of Athassel Priory.  He died on July 29, 1326, after retiring to the priory, which was a major religious house in the region. 
  • Bansha. William Francis Butler, Killardrigh (family estate burial ground) (1838–1910), a military figure in politics and exploration; British Army officer who served in Canada, Sudan, and South Africa, known for his book “The Great Lone Land” on Canadian travels and advocacy for indigenous rights; buried with military honours at the family estate in Tipperary.
  • Bianconi Mortuary Chapel in Boherlahan, Charles Bianconi, the pioneering transport magnate who established Ireland’s first regular horse-drawn carriage service (“Bianconi Cars”).
  • St. Mary’s Church, Clonmel (in the vault) – Thomas Judkin-Fitzgerald, the notorious High Sheriff of Tipperary during the 1798 Rebellion, known for his severe repression. His funeral was met with significant local opposition due to his actions during the 1798 Rebellion.

Other attractions include the historic town of Clonmel and its markets. Tipperary is Ireland’s sixth largest county by size (4,254 square km) and 12th largest by population (167,895). Population peaked at 435,553 in 1841 and reached its lowest point, 122,812 in 1966. In terms of hospitality, Tipperary is Ireland’s 14th most visited tourist county with around 168,000 international visitors per year.
